Biography

Trained with Filippo Carcano received in 1883 a great success with the shade of chestnut trees, preserved at the National Gallery of Modern Art. The following year he moved to Rome by binding to Gabriele D'Annunzio and starting to also attend the meeting place for Michetti in Francavilla. From 1888 he moved to South America and became interested 'to depict the local landscape as well as anthropology and photography. Among the works include Hydrangeas, Village on the Lake Maggiore, Olive trees in Francavilla Al Mare, Rome, Banks of the Rio Paraguay, Surroundings of Stresa, the Roman Campagna, The Wave (Sestri Levante), A Simplon road (Lake Maggiore), The ancient bridge on the Strona (Omegna) and Lambro - Country.
