Biography

Amedeo Bocchi was born in Parma on 24 August 1883 at the age of 12 she was writing to the Royal Institute of Fine Arts of Parma. He graduated in 1901 with honors , he attended the School of Nude in Rome where he will spend the rest of his life. In 1906 Amedeo married Rita ( his classmate in Parma ) , Bianca was born in 1908 , the first and only daughter of the artist, but a year later he died his wife Rita . In 1910 Bocchi is admitted , for the first time , with two paintings at the Venice Biennale , where he was able to admire the great staff of Gustav Klimt. Bocchi in that year he moved to Padua , in the wake of Achille Casanova , committed to decorate the interior of the Basilica del Santo, to specialize in the technique. In 1911, the largest exhibition in Rome for the fiftieth anniversary of the Unification of Italy , Bocchi realized in collaboration with Latin Barili , Daniele de Strobel and Renato Brozzi , the reconstruction of the Golden Hall of the Castle of Torrechiara . In the same year, he traveled for the first time in Terracina that , with its marshes and the hard life of its people , will be the focus of many of his paintings. In 1912 he received the gold medal of the Ministry of Education for the painting " The Three Marys " . In 1913 , while not officially adhering to the poster of the Roman Secession , Bocchi watching with keen interest the first exhibition organized by the group . Between 1913 and 1915 using the knowledge in the field of the fresco for the important commission entrusted to him by the Cassa di Risparmio di Parma for the decoration of the council chamber , dedicated to the theme of savings. The influences of Liberty and Klimt are processed in an original way by Bocchi , which performs a series of frescoes of absolute artistic value. The work, completed in 1916 , collects the unanimous critical acclaim . In 1915 he obtained the privilege of living in Rome in one of the case- study provided the artists with a rich Alsatian French, Alfred Strohl , inside the park that he had taken the name : Villa Strohl - Fern . There Bocchi will spend the rest of his life making a series of great masterpieces. In 1919 Amedeo Bocchi wife, his second wife , Niccolina , his young model . Years of happiness and growing success : even the Biennale, the appointment to the Academy of St. Luke, the gold medal for the painting in the White evening dress to show in Monza in 1926. Other family tragedies strike , however, the artist died in 1923 and in 1934 Niccolina disappears in just 26 years, the beloved daughter Bianca. The years that follow are dedicated to the memory and Amedeo Bocchi continues to paint , even in his mature years , with inexhaustible passion , until death takes him at his home and studio of Villa Strohl - Fern , 16 December 1976.
